Use Mnem with Cursor

Give Cursor's agent long-term memory: past decisions, conventions, and context surface mid-task — and new ones are saved as you go.

What you get

  • The recall, remember, chat, and memory_status tools, available to Cursor's agent in every project
  • Context from every other connected app — a decision made in Claude or Zed surfaces in Cursor
  • Optional auto-capture of your Cursor exchanges (off until you turn it on)

Connect

One-click setup from the Connections panel.

  1. Open Connections

    Click the Mnem icon in your menu bar and open the Connections panel.

  2. Connect Cursor

    Find Cursor and click Connect. Mnem writes an MCP server entry into Cursor's MCP configuration for you.

  3. Restart Cursor

    Quit and reopen Cursor (or reload MCP servers from Cursor's MCP settings) — servers are loaded at startup.

  4. Verify

    Ask the agent “What do you remember about me?”, or check that mnem appears in Cursor's MCP tool list.

Troubleshooting

If the tools don't appear, make sure Cursor was fully restarted. If a project defines its own project-level MCP config, it can shadow the global entry — add the same server there or remove the override. Calling memory_status is the quickest end-to-end check.
